Registered to Amazon.com, Inc. in the United States, Autonomous System 14618 is one of Amazon Web Services' primary US-East networks and among the most heavily trafficked ASNs in the world. It hosts a significant portion of global internet infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 storage, and CloudFront edge nodes concentrated in AWS's Northern Virginia footprint. Because a large fraction of popular websites and APIs run on this network, addresses within AS14618 frequently originate both legitimate application traffic and, occasionally, abuse from compromised cloud instances. Concentrated in Northern Virginia, its addresses commonly geolocate to the US-East region regardless of where the application's users actually are.
