What is Port 63?
Whois++ was an extended version of the WHOIS protocol designed to provide richer directory queries across distributed databases. It was standardized in RFC 1834 and RFC 1835 as an improvement over the basic WHOIS on port 43. The service never gained widespread adoption and is considered obsolete today.
