Port Overview
What is Port 1526?
Port 1526 is an alternative listener port used by Oracle Database, alongside the primary port 1521. Some Oracle configurations and older versions use this port for database connections. Administrators should secure this port with the same measures applied to port 1521.
Security Considerations
Port 1526 (Oracle Database) is classified as high risk. This port is a common target for automated scanning and brute-force attacks. If you must expose it, restrict access to known IP addresses.
Recommendation: Use firewall rules to whitelist trusted IPs. Enable rate limiting and intrusion detection.
