Port Overview
What is Port 15672?
The HTTP management console port for RabbitMQ message broker. It provides a web UI and REST API for managing exchanges, queues, bindings, users, and virtual hosts. Should be firewalled or protected with strong authentication in production.
Security Considerations
Port 15672 (RabbitMQ Management) is classified as high risk. This port is a common target for automated scanning and brute-force attacks. If you must expose it, restrict access to known IP addresses.
Recommendation: Use firewall rules to whitelist trusted IPs. Enable rate limiting and intrusion detection.
