Port Overview
What is Port 1863?
Port 1863 was used by MSN Messenger (Windows Live Messenger) for instant messaging, presence, and file transfer. Microsoft's IM client used this port for text chat and peer-to-peer communications between users. The service was officially shut down in 2013 when Microsoft consolidated users onto Skype.
