What is Port 27018?
Default port for MongoDB shard server processes (mongod in a sharded cluster). Used for internal cluster communication in MongoDB sharded deployments. Also used by some Steam game servers for multiplayer connectivity.
Security Considerations
Port 27018 (MongoDB Shard Server) is classified as high risk. This port is a common target for automated scanning and brute-force attacks. If you must expose it, restrict access to known IP addresses.
