Port Overview
What is Port 3050?
Port 3050 is the default port for Firebird (formerly InterBase), an open-source relational database management system. Clients connect to Firebird database servers on this port to perform SQL queries and transactions. Unauthorized exposure of this port can allow direct database access.
Security Considerations
Port 3050 (Firebird Database) is classified as high risk. This port is a common target for automated scanning and brute-force attacks. If you must expose it, restrict access to known IP addresses.
Recommendation: Use firewall rules to whitelist trusted IPs. Enable rate limiting and intrusion detection.
