Port Overview
What is Port 37777?
Default TCP client access port for Dahua brand DVR, NVR, and IP camera systems. Used by Dahua's proprietary client software (SmartPSS, DSS) for remote viewing and management. Heavily targeted in botnet and vulnerability scanning campaigns.
Security Considerations
Port 37777 (Dahua DVR TCP) is classified as critical risk. This port should not be exposed to the public internet. The service transmits data without encryption, making it vulnerable to eavesdropping, credential theft, and man-in-the-middle attacks.
Recommendation: Block this port at the firewall. Use encrypted alternatives (SSH, SFTP, HTTPS) instead.
