Port Overview
What is Port 50000?
Default port for IBM DB2 database server client connections. Also used by SAP HANA and various other enterprise database and application server products. Exposure to untrusted networks poses significant data security risks.
Security Considerations
Port 50000 (IBM DB2) is classified as high risk. This port is a common target for automated scanning and brute-force attacks. If you must expose it, restrict access to known IP addresses.
Recommendation: Use firewall rules to whitelist trusted IPs. Enable rate limiting and intrusion detection.
