Port Overview
What is Port 5222?
Port 5222 is the standard port for XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol) client connections, used by Jabber, WhatsApp (internally), Google Talk (legacy), and many other messaging systems. XMPP clients connect to this port on messaging servers to send and receive instant messages and presence information. It is one of the most widely deployed open messaging standards.
