Port Overview
What is Port 8008?
Port 8008 is an alternate HTTP port used by various applications and is the local control port for Google Chromecast devices. Chromecast listens on this port for local network control commands from the Google Home app and cast-compatible applications. It is also used by some IBM HTTP Server and Jenkins installations.
