Port Overview
What is Port 8069?
Port 8069 is the default HTTP port for Odoo (formerly OpenERP), a comprehensive open-source ERP and CRM business application suite. The Odoo web client and XML-RPC API are served on this port. Publicly exposed Odoo instances can be vulnerable to authentication bypass and data exfiltration attacks.
Security Considerations
Port 8069 (Odoo (OpenERP)) is classified as high risk. This port is a common target for automated scanning and brute-force attacks. If you must expose it, restrict access to known IP addresses.
Recommendation: Use firewall rules to whitelist trusted IPs. Enable rate limiting and intrusion detection.
